Thanks for the nailbiters today Snipers!

Wow. After we were behind 3 - 0 at the beginning of the 2nd period in our first game of the day, I thought we were done and all I had to do was cheer all the great plays and support the team in their loss. But NOOOOO! You guys had something else in mind, didn't you? What an exciting second two periods you gave us! And, was it exciting to see Noa score the tying goal? You betcha!

The exhibition game at the Sensplex this afternoon was another thriller! The win gives me bragging rights in the office as a colleague's son is on the Nepean team. So thanks for that. Of course, I would never brag about winning. Remember, hockey is just for fun : ).

You guys have heart and determination. I love the way you all dig and fight for the puck. At the Sensplex game today, you were playing as a team! I think Jake made as many great saves on D as Brandon did. Evan was poke checking like a pro. Ella played like she meant it! That is so cool to watch. Of course each of you has opportunities to build on the skills you have and as a parent, I look forward to everything you have in store!

Thanks Snipers!

Old man does Halloween

Halloween was awesome, so awesome I missed the 7 a.m. practice. Sorry guys.

I was dressed up as an old man for halloween and we went trick and treating throught Britannia village...a great place to get candy by the way. Went to a friends afterwards and watched James Bond, "shaken not stirred" late into the evenening and when my dad tried to get me up in the morning, it was like raising someone from the dead. I guess my costume worked. I'll post a picture soon

Great game and incredible shut-out Brandon. Keep up the great work.

7AM Practices Rock!

Okay, maybe that's a stretch, but there is the one advantage that the ice is available for us to go on early and shoot pucks around - at 6:30AM!  I have asked the people who allocate practice ice that, going forward, we get a fair share of 7AM practices and a fair share of other times as well.  Please stay tuned.

Cheers,
Jeff

too much hockey on halloween

Looking more forward to halloween than hockey this weekend. But I will try my best at the game on Saturday then hurry home to get ready to go trick or treating with my baby cousin Sandro. He is going to be a skunk! SO KOOL!

GO SNIPERS HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

And then there was the Snipers

Yes indeed folks, the dream team - PeeWee House B Snipers has arrived on the Bytown Minor Hockey League scene!  With a winning season opener last Saturday at Walkley Arena against South End under their body armour, these players mean business.

But let's face it, nobody tells a hockey story better than a minor hockey player.  That means you Snipers, this blog is for you!

Tell us about that great save, that rocket shot from the point that pinged the crossbar or that pass that resulted in a goal to win the game.  Tell us about waking up at 6 am and dragging your parents to the rink for a 7 am practice after a Saturday night of trick or treating on Hallowe'en - what was the ice scheduler thinking!!??  Tell us about what you do to get yourself in the zone.  We are, after all, your greatest fans and we will love your stories - we love everything about you.

Parents, feel free to contribute your hockey mom and hockey dad stories too!  Let's try to chronicle our Snipers season one blog posting at a time.

Let's go Snipers.....
